DeAnne & Paul - The Hacienda, Santa Ana CA

DeAnne & Paul were married at the very beautiful Hacienda in Santa Ana. The venue itself is hidden away from the main street however once you step inside you feel as though you have been transported into another realm! the greenery, the fountains, the eclectic different rooms all about, it really is the perfect setting for these two love birds!
My favorite moment of all from this wedding was their first dance, now I don't get to see much of the first dances as I normally am making sure other items are in place while the guests are busy watching the newlyweds however, something struck me about this one, I don't know if it was the song, "Every time I Close My Eyes" by: Babyface or the chemistry between these two but it stopped me in my tracks and literally brought a tear to my eye, the feeling of love was as they say definitely "In The Air"
Here is to you DeAnne & Paul, may your lives be blessed forever with all the love and devotion you two share!

Summer & Adam - Pine Rose Cabins, Lake Arrowhead

In Honor of
Summer & Adam Fight
October 27th 2012

Dear Summer & Adam,
I start this letter off by saying..."I'm glad you liked it, and put a ring on it" !! The day Summer came into my studio to discuss her big day coming up little did I know how much I would fall in love with these two characters! It was meant to be with a little Beyonce playing in the background...over...and over...and over again...darn auto repeat!! However Summer, you didn't even care, you let me know you were used to it since your soon to be hubby was a HUGE Beyonce fan...I really did not know the extent of this obsession, I fully understand now and quite honestly can not listen to a Beyonce song without the thought of Adam singing to it. :)
I truly adore you both and had such a blast planning and coordinating your wedding with you; Secretly I am hoping we can be BFF forever but I may have to brush up on my Beyonce Trivia. Blessings to you and your whole family, may the days to come be uniquely yours and the memories with many. I heart you.

October 27th 2012
You think of Lake Arrowhead at the end of October as a cold wintery day...possibly some rain, maybe even some snow, however this late October day was nothing short of crystal clear beauty! The two were married at Pine rose Cabins in Lake Arrowhead; Picture a giant cabin in the woods surrounded by spruce trees, pine needles, and the best natural aroma in the air! The ceremony and the reception were held outside amongst a beautiful backdrop of lit spruce trees and a cascade of stars up above, and if the guests got a little chilly, as the temperatures did drop into the evening, they were able to head on in to the giant cabin in the woods for a warming of the toe's by the fireplace. It was warm, inviting and almost a happy place feeling all around you.
The bride had a small homage to one of her favorite movies Twilight, and we were able to bring in small details from the movies big wedding scene into their own wedding; A few friends of theirs actually made a life size stand up of the 3 main characters from the movie and placed it in the forest, it can be seen in the distant backdrop behind the ceremony, a perfect fun addition for the big day!
As the guests were treated to a hot cocoa bar with marshmallows, cinnamon, coconut shavings and more they were all given HUGE...and let me repeat HUGE (I don't think summer and Adam realized how large they were until they arrived, however they made the photo op's SO amazing) Sparklers for the newlyweds grand exit! As the DJ played M83 "outro" the two fled to their awaiting car to whisk them off to their new lives as husband and wife.
Congratulations to the most laid back kids I have ever met, there wasn't a moment you two wernt smiling from ear to ear and it truly warms my heart to see the two of you together :)
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Fight!!

And for  you Twilight fans, this ones for you!

Adrienne & Matthew - Aliso Viejo Country Club

In Honor of
Adrienne & Matthew Encinias
September 1st 2012

Dear Adrienne & Matthew,
The day I received the email from Adrienne asking to meet with me as she was...ENGAGED! was thrilling...you see Adrienne and I went to high school together...eons ago!!! ;) However haven't seen each other since, so to hear from you was awesome and to know you wanted me to be a part of one of the biggest days of your life was even more special. The moment I met with both of you together I felt the love, Matt, you were always there for Adrienne, in all her deciding factors, you were her rock and her happy place and you could just feel she was at ease with you around, with Adrienne's loving spirit and your passion for her I see nothing but a positive force between the two of you and I was honored to be there to see you take your vows, your first dance and your farewell. I wish you both nothing but the best and cannot wait to see the beautiful babies you two will produce ;)
September 1st 2012
Hot...warm...sticky...did I mention Hot? it was a tank top sort of day so it wasn't a surprise when the news of Adrienne not wanting to put on her dress till the last minute...it was hot, in case I didn't mention! However, what a beautiful day it turned out to be! Adrienne and Matthew took their vows on the 10th hole of Aliso Viejo Country Club, overlooking the vast greenery of meadows and trees, there wasn't a sound anywhere. It was as if the whole world and earth stopped as these two spoke their vows to each other.
A cocktail hour with ping pong, bean bag toss, live music and plenty of refreshments, this party was getting off to a great start! The reception kicked off in the ballroom with an amazing wrap around deck overlooking Aliso Viejo...can we say LOVE!! Live band entertainment, dancing shoe flip flops, a dessert bar, a photo op room, a game room...there really wasn't anytime for people to become bored at this wedding...there was just too many fun activities to do!
As the two bid farewell to their guests and hopped into a waiting town car, they took one last look back at their big day with huge smiles and love in their eyes, and you just knew...these two were going places :)
Cheers to you Adrienne & Matthew!
You are a class act!

A Slight Change

Timeline
November 29th 1981 - Jennifer is born with dark black hair
1991 - Jennifer's hair turns a light brown from playing in the sun all day long.
1995 - Jennifer thinks she a "punkie girl" and dyes her hair dark brown; without her mother’s consent of course.
1995 1/2 - Jennifer chops off her dyed dark brown hair with her own pair of scissors and in her room...again without consent.
1997 - Jennifer gets blonde highlights for the first time, thinks she is SO cool.
2005 - Jennifer goes to a platinum blonde color
2006 - Jennifer realizes Platinum blonde isn't her forte'
2009 - Jennifer finds a photo of a girl with dark dark dark brown hair and keeps it thinking one day she will do this to her own hair.
2011 - Jennifer makes the plan to dye her hair a deep dark/auburn color after the New Year and devises a plan with her hair stylist...and tells no one!
February 17th 2012 - Jennifer dyes her hair dark brown/auburn red.
February 17th 1/2 2012 - Jennifer has a heart attack and is revived after the color changing is over.

Yes ladies and gentlemen this is the story of my hair in a nutshell...I must give you some back ground so you are fully aware of the dramatics I gave my hair stylist on changing the color seeing as I have been a blonde for SO long. It took me over two years to actually get the guts to do it, and yes to many of you your thinking "it’s just hair", but to me it was a whole new me! It was a complete change, and if I hated it I had to wait 6months for it to return to my current blonde color at the time so yes, you could say it was a little dramatic for me, but in the end my hair came out on top and all is well on the home front!

Now due to my new change new headshots were in order...just a great reason for some fun new photos of course! So I contacted one of my Favorite Photographers to set up a shoot and before I knew it we were striking a pose in downtown Orange!
Although I never have any clue as to what to do with my hands during these types of shoots Gavin from Gavin Wade Photography was able to strike poses for me to figure it out ha-ha!
I cannot thank him and Erin enough for the amazing photos and taking the time out of their busy lives to produce some amazing and fun photos for me!
Below are a few of the outtakes :) You can check out my website and Facebook fan page for the good ones!

Cheers everyone. Or shall I say "Cheeeesssee"

A Not So "Dirty Thirty"

A Parisian Themed 30th Birthday Celebration
With a twist of Tim Burton-esque decor.

_________________________________________________________

I suppose it’s time to admit it...it is official...I have been alive for three decades, and a few months now. I knew I would need some sort of escape to whisk me away from the reality that is....being a women in her 30's; Even saying a women in her thirties sounds old; let’s say lady, lady sounds MUCH better! Being the planner that I am I found the perfect getaway...a fun themed birthday dinner at an amazing hotel with amazing friends and amazing cocktails! It only took four months of planning but I think this idea has been in the works for years in my mind, so thrilled I was able to pull it all together with my amazing vendors and amazing friends and family that helped!

For those of you who don’t already know, my second love is eclectic, creepy, obscure, scarey, abnormal things. I LOVE scary movies, I love Tim Burton, I love a good Edwardian themed ball! The old time circus with circus freaks excites me and deep down inside I think I once was one in another life, so there was no doubt in my mind on what theme I was going with.

Design Information

I decided on a black/white & purple Tim Burton-esque themed party. I brought on a wonderful florist for my centerpieces and they turned out better than I expected with the handmade paper flowers made from Tim Burton paper!! I wrapped votives in black lace for a touch of flare and added a few eclectic items that brought a little bit of me to the table (A white ceramic elephant, a black feathered gothic hat and an hour glass). For the dessert bar I hired on a yummy bakery to make custom mini desserts, I placed them on a white side table I had in my office with a black runner and a piece of scrap striped material I had lying around. For the back drop of the dessert bar I found the amazing chandelier black/white curtain from Target and built the pipe structure to hold the curtain up right,it was perfect!!! For all the printed materials I am one lucky girl; my boyfriend’s sister is an amazing graphic artist for FOX Entertainment and designed ALL the paper goods...even when I came to her and said I needed a "Cootie-Catcher" menu she was up for the challenge! She designed and printed all the invitations(not shown), cootie-catcher menu cards, place cards, game pieces and dessert labels...it was all tied together with her personal touches and I couldn’t have been more grateful!

{Below are my inspiration boards for the party}

The day came and went and I’m still alive, I didn’t have a mid-life crisis and buy a red Ferrari, not yet atleast. I actually believe that my thirties will bring so much more than my twenties and I am excited for what’s to come and even more happy that I didn’t have a complete freak out over the big dirty-30!
                                                Cheers!!

Nichole & Ben - Hyatt Regency, Huntington Beach CA

Dear Nichole and Ben, To have been able to be apart of this most special day for the two of you has been more then special it has been an emotional and amazing adventure and I wouldn't have had it any other way!
I have seen Nichole and Ben grow together for the past 8 years now and there was no doubt in my mind that this was a meant to be relationship. Nichole with her Sagittarius wild and crazy and impulsive ways was reeled in by calm and level headed Ben, and together they built a love so strong nothing could tear them apart.
The wedding day began with a bag of gummy cherries and two bottles of Rockstar...not by me, by Nichole of course! What bride doesn't need a little caffeine and sugar to put some pep in her step, I'm not going to lie, I snuck a few as well...don't worry Nichole I left you some, there not as good as gummy frogs but no one was complaining!
I must admit for how much anticipation there was leading up to this big day by both the bride AND the groom, these two were very cool, calm and collected. When I arrived to the grooms suite I was greeted by three men in full tuxes with giant smiles on their faces...it was adorable..it was like 3 overgrown ring bears holding their ring bear pillow waiting for showtime....OK OK they were quite handsome as well.
Showtime was 2 hours away and Nichole and Ben began photos of their first look with eachother...as I saw Nichole walking towards Ben I got chills thinking how I cannot believe that I have seen these two amazing people go through so much and grow up together and here they are on their wedding day, and here it is the moment that I knew would happen...I started to well up, darn it! well atleast I got that out of the way early on, but in the utmost sincerity it was one of the sweetest moments I have witnessed and I am enamored of their love for eachother even more after it.
Nichole and Ben may your days be filled with more smiles then frowns, may you laugh more then cry, and if you do cry, may those tears be the ones of happy times as you both deserve the best out of life and eachother. I am so utterly happy to see you two and your everlasting love take that next step in life and in love together!
Cheers to you and all that may come!
To my AMAZING vendors that I love, I could not have put together a better team, Thank you for all you do and the professionalism you bring to the table...You guys rock!!

Natalie & Eric, Pomona CA

Natalie & Eric You two are just so adorable...I LOVE it!!!

January is a time to start thinking about losing that holiday weight, packing away the holiday garb and to start new years resolutions...it is also the month that I met Natalie and Eric for the first time.  You see Natalie is cousins with TWO of my previous brides but I knew she would be unlike the other two as they all were so different and yet the same in so many ways.
When Natalie and Eric arrived they had Natalies mother in tow, they all seemed excited yet apprehensive at first...I wasn't sure what it was all about until about 10min into the meeting Eric and Natalie's mom broke down to me saying they just couldn't see Natalie go through the stress of planning this wedding on her own and they couldn't handle the multiple emails about cakes, color shades, and flowers, you can imagine that at this point I am dying with laughter! It was a bride intervention! We were all able to come together to find the best fit for Natalie's needs and in the end everyone left happy!...best initial consultation thus far! Thanks Natalie for being so fun!

Natalie and Eric were married at St. Christopher's church in West Covina and held their amazing reception at the CoCo Palms in Pomona. When I arrived to Natalie's hotel suite there was only one thing I noticed and felt...calm.  I have never seen a more calm bride, Natalie was glowing and happy with not a worry in the world, she was just excited to put on her dazzling white gown and her cathedral veil and walk down that isle to Eric to begin the rest of their journey together. Before I move on with photos I must give the groom Eric a major hand of applause, his vows to Natalie were so incredibly touching...and I hear A LOT of vows, but these....you could just tell came straight from his heart, I just wanted to run up the alter and hug those two right then and there!!!

I had a team of amazing vendors which included some of my favorites, Suzanne from Suzanne M Smith Designs did an amazing job on the florals, and my two favorite DJ's Ed and John from Dijital Mango rocked the house , and for the amazing photos from John Patridge Photography..THANK YOU!! Last but not least my team, Jenni and Jorri, you two both were over the top awesome with the twists and turns of the evening and I am so thankful for you!
Now for the fun!
